The DOW was less than 3000 in 1990 and less than 1000 in 1982, would a visit to those levels be the end of the world??? I'm afraid you're blowing this all out of proportion. Noble drilling visited $12 down from a high of $37, did the world end cause NE dropped almost 70%???

As far as another Great Depression, maybe? Depends on what the government does in response to the economic problems.

less debt is always better. I don't think at this time we need to resort to burying coins. That's a little over the top. Serious economic problems will result IMO, but it will not be the end of the world and should not be treated as such. It is an opportunity if one is prepared.
