I would disagree that this channel has a "scary effect" on people. We have had guests on from the beginning of time begging people NOT to make major panic-style changes to their portfolios if they have long time horizons. Likewise we have had people on to tell the average viewer NOT to try to time the market. The "long haul" has been stressed over and over. We cannot FORCE people to take this advice. Thus some folks will get nervous and bail out, only to take a loss. This is unfortunate, but also a fact of life on Wall Street.. and it has been a fact of life on Wall St. long before CNBC was ever a glimmer in GE's eye. Best regards, Ted David
