Some interesting posts from MF

=============
Sierra has just released a 8mb patch for Red Baron II. It gives the game 3D capability. Would you believe it, it is in Glide format so only people with 3DFX cards will benefit from the patch. If you want to download the patch you can at:
redbaron3d.com . Since I don't own a 3d card yet could someone please tell me if the patch greatly improves game play or not.

I excised this snippet from www.voodooextreme.com: Any thoughts on whether this could be used to SLI Banshees/Voodoo2s or any combo thereof?

SLI w/ different V2s

Yes, it can be done -- wipe that damn shocked look off of your face :) Check out this bit I yanked from Binky's (AGN3D -- and people better not bitch about my English after this one :) ):

Liam Goodison sent me to a link (149k) (http://home.earthlink.net/~aosnovich/glide.zip) to download a new version of Glide that allows for different cards to be run together in SLI mode. I would appreciate it that someone who has a few different cards would give it a try and email and let us know about it if it works or does not. Here is the info from the readme from the driver:

Just copy the glide2x.dll over your existing glide2x.dll in Windows system directory. This new version will allow you to run any glide or opengl based application on SLI configuration with voodoo2 boards from different manufac- turers. D3D support (for the DirectX driver) is coming soon. Note that your SLI configuration must consist of the boards with the same amount of memory on each. Also bear in mind that this kind of SLI mix has some potential unsafety being caused by possible differences in board architectures I'm not aware of. So this binary is supplied as is. It is your responsibility to decide whether to use it or not. Regards, Andrei Osnovich.

Can anyone verify the above? Also some talk on how Carmack (sp?) aka "king" has endorsed TNT and put down 3Dfx. Who is he and why should we care?

I'm sure these issues were covered, but

Banchee will live of die from an OEM agreement,
and it amazes me that we have not heard one yet.
without an OEM for Banchee this company could
be history in a year. ATI is kicking OEM
butt, also Matrox & S3 have long standing
relationships for OEM'ing their products.
Intel may bundle i740's with motherboards.
3dfx is the new kid on the OEM block, and
it's debut does not look encouraging. I'd
lighten up on your position when you can,
and buy a few of the many other undervalued
stocks out there. PWJ was just an example.
