AJ, Have patience. 3DFX would not be pursuing Banshee if they did not already have some major OEM deals inked. I think Compaq and Gateway are very likely candidates given their historical support for 3DFX. In addition, a ton of mail order box makers will want to pump up their ads with the "Voodoo" logo. At Banshee's low price tag, why not? They can already put "Intel Inside" if they use an Intel processor so I740 doesn't add much. Matrox is probably the best alternative choice but, as I said, a choice for Matrox or I740 by consumers is money in 3DFX's pocket; most of those users will probably go with a Voodoo2 when those chipsets don't run the latest games fast enough. IMHO 3DFX has all the bases covered. They have an extremely competitive low end part and the best of breed Voodoo2 for high end users. Should be a sweet Christmas; we may start seeing historical revenue and earnings growth resume with a corresponding massive improvement in the share price. A forward PE of 8 or so for a high growth dynamic company in the right industry at the right time with a product that has enormous brand recognition and total support from huge game makers like EA is just absurd. Every 3DFX-enhanced game that ships puts another nail in the competition's coffin. I think history is playing out as so many of us predicted. There was a great deal of noise and hype surrounding the other cards but when the dust settles and the battlefield carnage is surveyed the Voodoo flag will still be flying high.
