"I think he's driven far more people away from his faith than he has ever attracted to it."

I would say that you are not a very good judge of those things. You are a man that tells us that you could see the glory and authenticity of Christianity in your grandmother, but instead of choosing and following and exploring this proven light you opted for the sacrifice of pigs and chickens in the spiritual slums of the world.
In the end, I guess you followed your own dark light.

It's never to late to go back to your back yard and dig up the treasures that your grandmother tried to give you; but wouldn't that require humility and a humble heart.

Emile

Steve,

God's way and thoughts are so much higher than ours, we should not try to impress our intelligence and limited knowledge on him. You do this by saying, why would he command this, or he would never do this because he loves us all, and this is not loving to me. You can't do that! You are using a limited knowledge base to define something infinitely larger.

There are explanations to everything you don't understand about God out there. Either you need to intelligently go out there and search for them or just willingly admit you can't understand and move along. Before you move along, however, pray about them. God many times makes something that is not understandable one minute, very understandable the next.

As far as Emile's technique, I for one do not agree with it. Any I am against any anti-semitic behaviors and attitudes and refuse to codon them. I have told him this time and time again, and think they are a tremendous negative witness. But I refuse to judge him. You know why, because I am a sinning person too, that might not partake in his particular sins, but ones as equally as bad and maybe worse. We all do. But that's why we need God's mercy. To save us from are mistakes. And he is the only one that could......

God Bless,
Steve
