Lee,

Just curious,...does any of the logistics screw ups at San Ysidro and other West Coast ports + difficulties in getting letters of credit affect Japanese appetite to export?

but Korea in many respects is worse off so that counters that conjecture

on other hand, Korea did cut deals with IMF/banks last winter...

so, on balance, not sure how the mix up in logistics at US ports affects trade...several articles in Economist on the 'bottleneck'

Any thoughts on this?

Nancy

This rate cut in Japan was done to help the Japanese banking system. However it is the equivalent of taking a cancer patient and giving him pain killers and making him real comfy but not doing any surgery.
