Re: Bio-API . . .

That's an interesting release, since it appears that NRID and I/O, both sponsors of competing APIs, have surrendered. Keep in mind that IDX is agnostic on the issue of which API to use. The IDX line has been that they will sign up with an API once the dust settles. I think the dust is settling pretty well, now, and I'd expect IDX to join up to Bio-API sometime in the future.

The existence of a well accepted API helps acceptance of biometrics, but once everyone in the industry is on board I don't know that anyone has a particular advantage over anyone else (although I think this adoption by I/O Software will help them). This not being an area of my expertise, however, I'd like to hear from the more technically proficient.
