Great Comp USA specials & business accounts

Just wanted to alert the thread to some terrific deals at comp USA this week, and my own experience with SW's excellent suggestion of setting up a business account there.

First, 5.7 gig Maxtor 2880 drives, which still sell at > $140 according to pricewatch, are selling under the Comp USA name in complete kit form (including cables, brackets, software, and manuals) for $149.99- $50 rebate = 99.99. If that wasn't good enough, this purchase lets you get a 32 meg EDO SIMM for $60 - $60 rebate = $0 plus tax! This is a terrific deal on a great drive that a even a person who can't comfortably go past the 8 gig IDE barrier (discussed earlier) can buy. If you can use the EDO SIMM, it's even better.

I'm buying one, and my dad's "buying" one for me (one of each rebate per address), even though I can only use one of the 32 EDO sticks currently (to upgrade my Optra S laster printer.)

Also, 128 Kingston SDRAM sticks are $149.99. This is about as cheap as pricewatch is listing generic mem--and here, you get a lifetime warranty and Comp USA's 10-day return policy. I'm betting they'll run great with my abit board at 10 mhz. But if they don't, no biggie--back they go.

Also, lots of little free after rebate sales, some of which are even useful (respectable win95 keyboard with a decent feel, 16 MB Kingston EDO simms, etc.

Finally, as Street Walker suggested (thanks SW), they were more than willing to set up a business account for me with just a name. This way, I get the cheaper of their special prices (including all the above, from 9/5-9/12 only) or cost + 10%. Can't often beat that, with their 10 day full refund return policy.

Comp USA just came to Spokane, WA, where I now live. Since we don't get many local computer shows out here, it's been a great resource. I find that some products are better obtained from internet vendors, and they don't stock some items. But when they do, it can be a very tempting solution.
