You are certainly not dumb. And yes, I am serious. My BA was in humanities with an emphasis on religion. I love this stuff. But you've got to be forewarned: I don't consider the KJ version a valid source document for the original scriptures. I believe the bible was written over many years by many different people for many different reasons, including both sacred and profane ones. I believe that sacred scriptures, whether canonical or not, give us great insight into who we were, are, and can become.
