I found McGuire's 61 & 62 home runs very bittersweet; I'm a Cubs fan. I love baseball and have a great appreciation for the magnitude of the record, but I have a really bad feeling the Cubs will lose the wildcard race by 1 game. If this does happen, I believe Cub fans will look back on the Labor Day weekend when the Cubs were swept by the Cardinals, one of the worst teams in the NL this year, and allowed themselves to get caught up in the mania that has swept the nation.

Otherwise, congrats to McGuire. He's a refreshing change of pace to the typical sports superstar.
