Were you raised on Welfare?

Paul,

You seem to be a little confused about the role of Intel in a free market economy. Cyrix and AMD are private companies attempting to compete against a huge monopoly. They do not receive any government assistance. Both companies have had, and will have in the future, many more profitable quarters.

They typify what is good about a free market economy. Intel typifies much of what is wrong with a monopoly.

Intel's high CPU pricing continue to entice competitors into the marketplace. Given a fair shot, Cyrix and/or AMD will get it right sooner or later.
