An equity investment by someone in Ancor has been rumored for quite a long time on the message board. I assume, without knowing, that Adaptec also would have talked with Ancor as part of its decision to restructure, and the identity of the companies with whom strategic alliances woudld be formed, and that this (and possibly other overtures) is what fueled the rumor. Now, at least one broad question emerges: Did Ancor reject that overture (if one was made), or did Adaptec (if it investigated Ancor) reject Ancor in favor of Jaycor and, if so, for what reasons?
