Your statement would have been true a year ago, but not any more.

My statement was about CPU and graphics hardware design houses, not marketing companies. Six years ago Compaq made a decision to quit doing any serious ASIC design in house, and basically become a marketing organization. I'm not surprised that they switched over to NT. NT meets the needs of marketing, software, and (possibly)mechanical design.

Like I said earlier, I work with NT and Solaris every day. NT is grossly inadequate for serious electronic design. Does Intel use NT for design? Why not?
