Gregor - 50d/200d cross over - you're right - looks like it will happen soon almost of its own momentum, unless we have a sustained rally which is unlikely. Actually market seems to be holding onto some sort of support for now - a lot of believers still.

All the events you mention no doubt - the difference now seems to be that the market is looking for and responding to bad news aka bear market. E

U.S. vows to dispel industry's concern on imports

U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky and Commerce
Secretary William Daley on Thursday pledged Washington's maximum
efforts to dispel the U.S. industry's concern about a flood of
imports by Japan and other countries.
In a statement following her meeting with executives and labor
union leaders of steelmakers the previous day, Barshefsky said the
U.S. government will employ ''strong U.S. trade laws designed to
prevent injury to U.S. industry and workers from unfair trade
practices and from import surges.''
