Larry, yes, your are right about the oil shock during that time period. I suspect the fallout from that oil shock had much more to do with the stock market during 1973-4 than did the politics of Nixon's situation.

It's interesting to compare these two time periods. In 1973-4 we had rising oil prices, Nixon and impeachment proceedings. Today we have declining oil prices, Clinton and impeachment proceedings. In both time periods the Russians were problematic for us. Is history repeating itself, or what?

monster trading day today
unreal to have a big green day (except in hold account) with a market tank (thank you Bubba gg)

SIVB was huge (11 flips on it and held a bit over)

CCL up 1 (watch RCL to maybe follow it)
REXI MAY have finally bottomed, worth a watch
NITE solid all day +1/4
SFC super for 1/4's all day long
WHC strong and took out near resistance, may go higher
ALK flat on a crap day, keep on watch list

many majors like AXP GE etc testing support again
FLT FNM KRB keep all on front screen

oil service and gold stocks big green today
hard drives held well

MER TBR can't find a bottom
CIEN looks like history

followed all Cel's trades on mirc, she went 3 for 3 big; before work gggg we wil turn her into an early bird yet
