Interesting. I wonder how this will work as DELL attempts to penetrate the lucrative server market. These devices require more hand holding than traditional "mass-market" desktops.

what MD was saying is that CPQ took on this tremendous staffing overhead that will keep them from being as profitable as DELL, since DELL will use non-labor intensive web-based tools.

i.e., CPQs costs are going up, and Dell's are going down.

There is software that will analize your system over a modem. You register your system when you buy it and if something goes wrong, you call the service software (if you system works at all) and the software test everything and tells you what the problem is and how to fix it.
