Im trying to get some info on Sql server 7, how the beta is going etc. Anybody know anything? The application companies psft, sebl etc are all doing ports to sql server and it has the potential to be an Oracle killer but only if the quality is there. Oracle numbers today were not too good, only 13% license revenue rise on the engine.

ed,

>>Download softwares is different than painting cars. Pls do not compare apples and oranges.

How is it different? In both cases people are not able to get the OEM options that they want as a consumer!

How hard would it be for Microsoft to allow other browser makers to come pre-installed on the desktop?

Just admit that this is a leveraging tactic employed by Microsoft to gain marketshare among new users.

Cheers,

Norm
