As I was saying in the previous post along the lines of who's looking and drooling...seems to me that it won't be too long before someone really takes notice...the minutes just keep adding UP!

What is up with the Joint company?
My understanding is that "Joint Stock Company" is the term used in the Egyptian exchange for a public corporation.

The news release says:
The planned venture will join Telecom Egypt and Digital Long Distance Corporation, a subsidiary of Digitcom, in a revenue sharing arrangement or the formation of a joint stock company.

What this tells me is that either (a) Telecom Egypt and Digitcom's DLD corporation will remain separate entities, with Digitcom sharing revenues from this deal, or (b) Telecom Egypt will merge with DLD, and form a new public corporation on the Egyptian exchange. In the latter case, I assume Digitcom would act as a holding company in the U.S., owning a chunk of the Telecom Egypt/DLD corporation on the Egyptian exchange. This allows DLD to form similar arrangements with telcos in other countries, with Digitcom remaining a U.S. corporation (listed in the future), but holding chunks of corporations listed in international exchanges.

Just my guess. Whatever way the lawyers want to do this is fine, it is great news for stockholders in either case.
