LOD, is that before or after the 80 million new people added to the world population this year? much of that is in Asia. it's striking that individuals still consider Dell overpriced when the potential market for computers remains at around 89% of the world population, and growing each year. 80 million is nearly 1/3 the population of the U.S. maybe the "overpricers" are talking about a few bucks here or there. did you know that the U.S. Congress considered the Louisiana purchase WAY overpriced (we're talking fist fights)? If i recall it passed by a few votes, if not just one vote. there's possibly too many accountants sitting in the back end of a truck trying to determine where the road ahead is leading.

MD's comments regarding emerging markets: an idea is that orders from emerging markets may show increase exponentially partially because of Dell's BTO model. the cost of setting up and maintaining retail shops in these markets is excessively high, yet they have access to mobile telephone communication. having a mobile telephone is THE status symbol in much of Africa and Southeast Asia
