There is not much insider selling on Ciena-
Correct me if I am wrong, but I could not see any heavy management insider selling and this would indicate to me that management has a lot of confidence in the Ciena business plan and competitive position. Once again, TLAB needs Ciena for any long term success. What else are they going to do? Buy LU or Pirelli?

Probably still makes sense at much lower ratio. But Tlab can live without. Don't know if Cien can.

CIEN wins regardless of whether TLAB wants the deal or not.

IF TLAB wants to walk away from the deal, CIEN should take the $100M, which more than makes up for the loss from losing the Digital Teleport order, and CIEN can continue independently or pursue other companies like CSCO.

IF TLAB needs CIEN badly and they stick to the guns, then CIEN is undervalued, and can only go up!

I don't think TLAB management would have made this deal without accounting for the uncertainties with CIEN business. And since TLAB's management says they invested in CIEN for the long term, the only way they can gain credibility from their shareholders is by keeping their word.

Agree? Disagree??
