All;

We have not talked about Dell's support/service for quite some time. Would someone bring us up to date? Are still using Wang? What are they going to do as they move toward the high end?

Phil

Yes I see that. We have had this same discussion for years now. DELL seems to be growing inspite of not acting like IBM or IBM wantabe CPQ. Can DELL be more IBM or CPQ like is this what you are looking for? I hope not. I hope they can continue to use wang, andersons of the world to handle the messy stuff and concentrate on making latest computers, workstations, servers, storage systems fast and cheap ...

We are questioning how well it will work with high end hardware, with it's attendent support/configuration issues.
This is where Dell really shines. They don't just sell a box, they sell a box that is pre-configured with operating system, applications, the correct IP numbers and everything.

A few months back Dell delivered eight servers to a company. They were running in less than an hour. It was just plug them in and turn them on.

DELL's biz model works for lower-end PCs....??

John:

Could you care to explain DELL's relationship to lower-end PCs? I thought 'we' don't do 'cheap' as others are more proficient in it and you know who they are.
