JB - from your post are we to assume that "dispicable" behavior is now somehow an acceptable trait for the President?

The slippery slope we are on with this kind of a leader is depressing.

I see a big difference between doing a consensual sexual act and rape. I don't see much difference about lying to either under oath. The relationship with Monica might be impeachable, because to all practical purposes it's up to congress to decide what "high crimes and misdemeanors" means. There are at least 2 precedent cases where federal judges have been impeached for offenses that were not indictable as a crime. Personally, I would be against impeachment for his sexual relations with Monica. However perjury is an indictable offense, a more serious problem a genuine crime, and it is now very clear that he is guilty of that offense. Remember that he testified that he didn't remember being alone with her.
Ultimately, both the president and congress are politicians and it's hard to imagine either being completely objective.. In the end it will take 2/3 to impeach, and it's almost impossible to get 2/3 to agree to anything. Whatever the outcome, Clinton is ruined, and some of the stench will rub off on Gore.
