After Reagan bankrupted the country which still has a huge debt unpaid off from those years, the government has not been able to afford many of the programs I enjoyed the government funding. It was years that the whole infrastructure of the bridges and highways went into the can. Arts funding is all screwed up. There is no money to fund areas for the people so we get overcrowed and unplanned massive overdevelopment with no soul. The medical insurance system in this country is a nightmare; talk to any doctor's office about billing. These are middle class issues to me.
