I disagree. The public knows Clinton's defense - which as you detailed, is very flimsy. They try to deny the undeniable. Nightline looked at Clinton's defense and they pronounced it very weak, not just on the law - denying perjury - but also because they can't dispute the facts. And the public has heard the defense for months.

On the contrary, the public opinion against Clinton will grow and solidify as citizens learn what is in the Starr Report. As a result, it's all downhill from here until the elections for him and his party.

And then the question that each Congressman will ultimately be forced to answer is:

Can a President of the US, who has lied under oath in a Federal criminal investigation before a grand jury, remain in office?

The resounding answer will be NO! As Senator Moynihan said, the precedent of the alternative cannot be allowed to stand.
