Jim, I do not have such strong views for or against Clinton (what can you expect from a democrat? VBG), I am concerned about our system of government and the trivialization of the impeachment process. If we allow this thing to go to conclusion, every president will be in a position of being blackmailed by the opposing party with an "impeachment" process as soon as disagreement on political issues arise. The barrier to impeachments proceeding should be set quite high (used in lieu of assassination), or else we will end up with a ungovernable systems.

Jim, you give me four years and $40 MM and I'll find someone who will find something in any one of the Washington crowd an "impeachable" offense. Gee, with that money and time, I'll fabricate some. The KGB had an army of "seductresses" whose sole job was to create such "reproachable" situation so that follow up "blackmaillign" could ensue (I presume our own CIA was not to "holy" in this respect ever. Gosh, Delilah did the same to Samson, it is as antique as human history. We cannot let the impeachment process go this way at the risk of endangering our own system of government, and thus the essence of the fabric of our life. You'd think that with White Water, File Gate, travel Gate etc. Starr would have found something better. I wonder why he could not. Maybe, just maybe, there was no other "smoking gun".
