Thanks, Phil. I know what BTO is, and Apple's lack of BTO availability for some models doesn't concern me. I simply posted the entire paragraph from MacNN, and it listed some BTO info as well the other more serious availability problems with Apple desktop and PowerBook models.

While I agree wholeheartedly with your assertion that it's better to have demand exceeding supply, this is an age-old problem with Apple's manufacturing and demand forecasting abilities. At least they seem to have fixed one aspect of the problem -- making too many of the models that don't sell well.

My point in posting the original message was that I simply don't believe your revenue forecasts to be in line with reality, given the lack of availability for so many Mac models. Believe me, I'd love to be wrong on this count, and I hope Apple is making enough of every model to satisfy demand. However, it looks to me as though Apple still can't make enough of their high margin, high profit computers and may have sacrificed many of them for the iMac. I hope this situation clears up very soon and there are enough Mac models to go around for everyone.
