I am a bit surprised at the comments going all the way back to my <<<illness>>> post some 70 odd posts back. I keep hearing that the president has been good for the economy but no one tells us specifically what he has done that wasn't forced by the republican congress. No one even tells us specifically what he has done for them. Balance the budget-forced by republicans and done at the expense of our military readiness. IMHO he has had NOTHING to do with the economy other than keeping Greenspan. We are riding a wave of technological advancement that rivals all others in the past. Believe it or not, the computer has come into its own. We now have computers and computer literate people in a profusion of places allowing us to do things in as little as 1/10th the time it used to take. We build aircraft, cars, and all manner of things and sell them before we even manufacture the first one. What cost savings!! We develope drugs, move information, educate, train, etc. in the blink of an eye. It took some years after the first computer to get us here, but here we be. The damage this punk has done to this country will be coming to light for years. We have not begun to look into the challenges to the constitution he and his henchmen have led us into. Like his continuing efforts to comply with and go beyond the Kyoto accord when our congress voted it down. Like his efforts to take the census by "sample". What he has done is absolutely wrong. He lied, under oath, more than once. We cannot tolerate that in our heads of government. As a role model, he ranks with the worst. Folks, I do not want government by public opinion. That at best is unverifiable and suspect. At the worst it is anarchy. Every once in a while an opportunity to LEAD shows itself to our congress. Often it is very difficult to be a leader. Especially if the RIGHT decision is "unpopular". In my view that is when leadership defines itself. I want to be led, by intelligent, honorable, decent people. I want leadership, not fellowship, in my congresssional leaders and in my president. We do not have that in our president. Now we find out if we have that in our congress. I doubt he will resign for I do not believe there is that much good in him. He could still save the nation a severe trauma if he did resign. Congress must impeach or carry it far enough to force his resgnation. When forced he may opt out.
