Thats an unhealthy weight loss in such a short time.
Btw you need to eat carbos. Sounds like his other fad diet. He got rich off it.
Bad for the kidneys.
Here's the big secret of losing weight. Eat less calories than you use and exercise.

CAP, I am assuming it is one of the no carbo/high
protein and fat diets (a.k.a. Mayo clinic diet)???
I don't think it's that bad a diet if you are severely overweight,
but significantly reducing carbos for more than a few
weeks is probably not a good idea. I'm sure Dr. Atkins
addresses this because if not you will build up a lot of ketone
bodies (acetone) in your blood stream.
I didn't realize the diet would lower cholesterol. Don't you
eat all sorts of eggs and bacon for breakfast?

The energy you have is due to the body being stressed (thinking
it doesn't have enough food, but it actually does because it is
converting fat to ketone bodies--an alternate fuel);
therefore, I believe your body releases more adrenaline.

The diet should also reduce insulin resistance that our bodies
might have built up if we carry a few extra pounds. This resistance
comes about when our fat stores supplies our body with a continuous
fuel source and then large amounts of carbos are ingested while
the body is well fed. Insulin is then released telling
the body to store the carbs (now in the form of glucose or blood
sugar) as fat. The problem arises because, with high levels of
released insulin, our body becomes more resistant to insulin.
Therefore, when we need to remove some of the sugar from our blood
we can't. You end up losing the glucose in the urine along with
lots of water, and you will constantly feel hungry.
Therefore, reducing body fat is very important in preventing diabetes.
