Tomorrow, Wall Street (ever the realists and not known for high moral rectitude) will treat the last 48 hours as a non-event.

My feelings exactly. And if Congress were to decide on impeachment, the American economy would still proceed with the momentum that it had before the whole scandal erupted. It doesn't matter whether Clinton was responsible for the current economic strength or not. The economy isn't going to collapse if the Clinton administration falls. This isn't North Korea, you know, where everything is centered around the personality cult of Kim Il-Sung and his son.

We will conduct business as usual. Jay Leno will have enough material for another two years.

As a fan of Jay Leno, I'm looking forward to the next two years of his monologue. Jay's got the easiest job in Hollywood. This stuff just writes itself!

Mary,

Congress should impeach a president because he has violated the constitution, not because he is a bum.
