Ibexx,OTOT...
I find this Starr inquisition very troublesome. The media has ignored the 2nd rebuttal and the obvious nature of a political witchunt. The media fed masses have lost all proportion in condoning this outragous incursion into private life.Only the Congressional Black Caucus has had the decency to defend the President.I pray that reason will be restored.
Regards,Sam

SAP Uses Primergy Server from Siemens as a Windows NT
Development Platform for SAP SCOPE; High-end, Multi-processor
Primergy Family Defines the Standard

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1998--Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems, Inc. today announced that SAP Labs Inc. will use the Siemens' Intel-based Primergy server family as a Windows NT
development platform for the SAP Supply-Chain Optimization, Planning and Execution(TM) (SAP SCOPE(TM)) initiative. The Primergy Family is based on the latest Intel architecture including the recently announced Pentium(R) II Xeon(TM) processor. SAP and Siemens are broadening their existing 25 year technology alliance. For SAP, the partnership means continuous access to advanced server technology focused on medium-size and large data-intensive networks. For Siemens, the relationship guarantees the highest level of performance of SAP(TM) R/3(TM) for their enterprise resource planning (ERP) customers. "The performance, scalability and reliability features of Siemens high-end Primergy servers lets us offer our customers platforms that meet the needs of their CPU and data intensive solutions," stated Heinz Roggenkemper, executive vice
president of development at SAP Labs.

The Fast Gets Even Faster

Swiss Pension and Life AG, headquartered in Zurich, is the No. 1 life insurance company in Switzerland. Doing business in 50 countries requires the processing of an inordinate amount of information. First using a cluster of 4-processor, PentiumPro Primergy 560 computers, the company shaved hours off the processing of insurance policies, reaching a record-breaking 6 hour processing run. Commenting on the further improvement of the new Primergy 870, Walter Boniger, senior vice-president at Swiss Pension and Life AG, stated, "The new Xeon-II
processors reduced the 6-hour run almost in half to an unbelievable 3 1/2 hours. We can now run iterative processes more frequently to improve the quality of the results." "Though performance is a major component to data and processing intensive business applications," said Adrian Ionel, director of Siemens' North American
Computer Systems sales unit for SAP, "our Primergy family of servers also has a leading benchmark in scalability, upgradeability, hot replacement of critical components and high availability through fault-immunity functions."

Action Speaks Louder Than Words

The critical mix of server features found in the Primergy 870 prompted SAP Labs to acquire three of the
servers. The equipment optimizes the solution for SAP R/3 and SAP SCOPE. SAP SCOPE combines the
strength of the SAP R/3 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution with the SAP Advanced Planner and
Optimizer(TM) (SAP APO(TM)) products and technologies found in the SAP Sales Force Automation(TM)
(SAP SFA(TM)), business to business commerce and SAP Business Information Warehouse(TM) (SAP
BW(TM)) solutions.
