********OT*******

When ATT divested many years ago, I invisioned the creation of a wideband connection (cable/fiber optic/wireless) to every household. It would replace telephone (local and long distance), TV cable, and PC modems. With streaming audio and video (only concepts then), I invisioned a phone call to Mom & Dad where they could see their new grandson from clear across the United States with no long distance charge. High Definition TV (which has been extremely long coming). And, a PC connection as fast as the one back at the office (or college computer lab). IDSN is too expensive and doesn't deliver enough for the price. Come on guys, America will pay a bundle for the company that succeeds in this arena. $50 for phone, $25 for cable TV, and $20 for an ISP. Charge me a hundred and I can cancel the others and hope everyone else subscribes. I'm sure everyone else will and when they do, it will pay the infrastructure costs. It may take another government regulated monopoly to ensure infrastructure costs are recouped (as the early telephone did).

Just dreaming, Jim

My PC should be able to handle streaming video and my new high resolution monitor should be able to display it - Maybe some new wireless outfit will finally come across with high bandwidth to the home/small office, but until then it's only a dream. Rob, Let me rub this in. I have cable acces and my PCs handle streaming video and audio. So there LOL<G> You do have a point. Glenn
