Greenspan speaking tomorrow at 10:00 am EST. Market seems to have already discounted a cut. Greenspan should take the cue on September 29th. That is the last FRB meeting until November 19th. I don't think the Fed wants to wait that long in this environment.

Maybe stimulating consumer demand in the U.S. would help Japan a little, but I would think that much more effective would be for Japan to roll back the consumer tax increase they put in last year. I remember Bob's comments when they put that in, about what a bad move it was.
