dgivinvestor... where do I begin? Well, let me start off by saying that I agree with much of what you say: We are all solely responsible for our own investment decisions and do our own dd the best that we can. Yes, some of us (including me) have made decisions based on what has been said on these bulletin boards - and I have both made and lost money on those words of advice. The real world is that this is an OTC company where information is hard to come by. It is not just laid out there for the average person to come by and get. How many folks are there that have invested in DGIV? How many of those post on bulletin boards such as these? How many lurk? How many have actually called the company? How many have called Germany to verify DGIV's press release? Like it or not, there are a great many people that use the information posted here as their dd. Point in case: DGIV was my first OTC stock. I didn't even know what dd stood for, much less know what it was when I made my first purchase. I lurked here a while, liked what I saw and bought. Since then, I have learned a bit more about due diligence, exercised that knowledge and made more purchases of DGIV. But, I have never made those calls to verify DGIV's PR's... I still rely on information posted here and the credibility of those posting the information lessens the risk, IMO. Now we come to certain "Naysayers" and "Bashers." It is very easy to make unsubstantiated claims, take things out of context and make outright false claims. No, I am not afraid of McGinniss and I suspect, few people are. He is not particularly good at what he does. However, I am not willing to allow certain statements to be made and go unchallenged. I am not certain why, but perhaps it is easier to illustrate the point with an extreme example. If I was to say to you, in front of a group of people, that your sister was a slut, what would you do? (after your hands were removed from my throat :-)) Do you know what your sister does with her nights? or every free moment? No. But, you would be certain that what I was saying was false. It is an easy statement for me to make, but hard for you to disprove. And I am certain that you wouldn't just let the statement lie flat without some sort of retort. How about if I said your favorite running back was seen limping down the street of his hometown before the big game this weekend? Would you believe me? What if I posed as an expert on such matters? Would it cause you some doubt? Would you change your bet on the upcoming game? What could you say? Even if you knew the papers carried no such information. Would it cause you some doubt? If you were an avid fan, you might even try to reply to my accusation. Is there value in me saying anything in either of the cases? Is there value in your reply? IMO, no to the former question and yes to the latter... for many reasons. I do not believe it degrades us to reply to the unjust nor does the unjust necessarily add value to the debate. This is not about debate where both sides have valid points to make. This is about situations in which fear, untruths, half truths and innuendo are used to further a position or goal. THAT is the situation here. THAT is why I said you needed to do your homework on McGinniss. We have seen in the past for what he is and how he does it. He has received treatment appropriate to that behavior. Lazarus, wishing I hadn't lost the first message I wrote on this subject...
