FUZFO,

I don't think the Intel/3Com merger as being a good thing for long-term stockholders of COM$ unless the price is one that can not be matched $300 :-). My point being 3Com is much better investment as a standalone company compare to the alternative of getting some Intel shares or cashing out and finding new investment imo. I also think there are better strategic players that 3Com could merge with if they would desire to, but 3Com has repeated that it is not for sale is my understanding.

I wouldn't be surprised to see COM$ blow through $32 resistance (200 dma) by expiration, maybe tomorrow.

Why has 3Com still not announced earnings date? 3Com must be working on some big news to release along with earnings, plus the annual shareholders meeting is next Thursday. 3Com probably started this buying spree internally when it was around $25-$28 so it could prop stock up for earnings and have happier shareholders at the meeting since we have been in the dumps for over a year.

And as joe pointed out the markets may be in our favor and 3Com will take the lead, KING COM$!

Matt

I believe the rise is due to anticipated earnings being good to strong. The takeover thing has to e generic as it is quite possible that INTC was at COMS to discuss some kind of deal with this home network chip. Also Rockwell's withdrawal from modem chip set business is a plus.
