Golfaholic,

IMHO what the shorters know and realized early on, is that the smalls were headed for a bear market. Hats off to them for recognizing the situation and taking full advantage. They also realized radica was an easy target to scare traders (read profit takers) as it was a 19 bagger ($1-$19) in one years time (it was the third best percentage return for 1997 in all markets). Also, they realized with the small float and all the built-in profit that taking a strong short position would make traders wonder exactly what you are wondering "what do they know that I don't". Again IMHO, they know nothing more than what I stated above. Long term investors will be richly rewarded with this company, short term traders ; however, I think will be poorly disappointed until small caps begin recovery or company gets analyst coverage, blows own horn etc, which I don't expect to happen. A blowout 4th could bring it back to a more acceptable PE but really huge returns likely wont be seen for a while. Remember if there are no sellers, the price will go up. All this of course in my most humble and honest opinion.

Best Wishes, Swedelo
