In a sexual harassment case, the person who feels they were harassed will most likely do everything possible to ensure punishment of their foe. They would almost certainly pursue perjury charges if at all possible. You need to accept the fact that perjury is never okay. If you feel you must perjure yourself, accept the fact the you will have to some day explain that perjury, and accept the consequences. That way, if you lie to save someone's life, you can at least feel that you did the moral thing - lying is less wrong than allowing someone to die. <<Clinton has already been punished plenty.>> He still has the ability to destroy this country through his access to secret information and his susceptability to blackmail. He couldn't afford to have any more dirt released, making him an easy target. That's why people that engage in risky sexual behavior are not granted security clearances. This is not about punishing Clinton, but about protecting America. <<If the Republicans drag this out for months and months they will suffer a MIGHTY backlash. They already have it from me. >> You are absolutely entitled to your opinion. Of course, if Congress does nothing, there will be a backlash. If they do too much, there will be a backlash. It is up to them to figure out what the appropriate level of action is. I hope they take their time and do this carefully and correctly. I also hope they do it quietly.
