Mark, Loved the link! As you may or may not know, I am somewhat intrigued by the possibilities of home networking. A very important aspect of which will be relatively small storage capacities in home network appliances (set top boxes, stereos, security systems, even refrigerators). I find it troubling that Quantum has no plans at all in this area. Must say, however, no one has made money in mini drives. Maybe there really isn't a viable market for them. BTW, what are your views on Internet 2? Demand driver or vapor? Yogi

Mark, I screwed up and forgot about attending.<sheepish grin> Your summary was the next best thing, though. I do not think market development is part of Quantum's charter. If they did, someone else would just try to grab it anyway. I would like to see an agressive program to supply sub $1K box makers. That requires razor sharp execution for smaller margins. But it would contribute. Browsing ad flyers by CompUSA, OfficeMax etc I note very few sub 1K computers, because most ads show bundles (with monitor and printer included) for closer to $1300-1500. New cars are cheaper this year! I cannot remember seeing that before. Y2K should help, or at least not hurt the DD business. (Gotta back up all those buggy programs you replace - just in case). I don't think it will be as bad as the cartoon. :) Gottfried
