Wastewater Bio-Gas to Become Electricity Using ONSI Fuel Cells

Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- ONSI Corporation today announced that
California's Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and Triunfo Sanitation District have finalized a contract with Energy 2000 of Camarillo, Calif., to purchase two ONSI model PC25C(TM) fuel cells.

Without any combustion, the fuel cells will convert waste methane from the districts' Rancho Las Virgenes Biosolids Composting Facility into 400 kilowatts of electricity and process heat. The energy will be used
primarily to power facility operations and provide heat required as part of the process. This is the first time in California that energy for fuel cells will come from methane from wastewater processing.

''Today, ONSI is the only company producing a commercial fuel cell,'' said Robert Suttmiller, ONSI President. ''There is no question that the Rancho Las Virgenes project will be a model for California,
demonstrating that a renewable resource can be harnessed to serve our communities.''
