Brees,

<<<As I read the message of Jesus in the new testament (apart from what his followers wrote and in consideration of translation confusion, as well as out and out changes that I believe to have occurred) I find the same message I find in the Quran.>>>>

I don't understand how that can be possible since a Muslim does not believe that Jesus is the way the truth and the life and nobody gets to the Father except through Him.

These are some of the sayings of Jesus:

And Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven. Matt 9:4 In other words Jesus is able to forgive sins. Could Muhammed?

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matt 10:32 It is just as important to confess Jesus before men as it it God. (He is God)

For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. Matt 12:8 Was Muhammed?

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven....Matt 16:19 Only the ruler of heaven has the authority to grant such things (He is God)

Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost Matt 28:19 (The Godhead or The Trinity)

<<< I believe the path to salvation presented by Jesus is the same path presented by other messengers of God.>>>>

I don't believe any messengers made such bold declarations as Jesus did. It might be good to re-evaluate the authenticity of Jesus vs. the authenticy of Muhammed.
