A quote during the Watergate scandal:

"Yes, the president should resign. He has lied to the American people,
time and time again, and betrayed their trust. He is no longer an
effective
leader. Since he has admitted guilt, there is no reason to put the
American people through an impeachment. He will serve absolutely no
purpose in
finishing out his term; the only possible solution is for the president
to save some dignity and resign."
-William Jefferson Clinton, 1974.

If someone--and I'm not saying you--actually believed that a publication like Salon--which publishes avowed conservative David Horowitz "Right On!" column is shadowy arm of to Clinton administration that secretly funnels leaked info to the public then either:

a) They are naive and have little understanding of the inner workings of the press.

b) Or they are crazed rightwing conspiracy theorists waiting nervously out in the woods--assault rifles and Bibles in hand--for the dark hordes from the cities to rise up or the U.N.'s black helicopters to swoop in.
