Dr. Yousef,
I value your technology expertise; would you comment on how AMD can get out of the mess it is in?

1999 Will Be a Tough Year for Intel:

In 1999 Intel will introduce an array of new products based on the PII at a dizzling rate. This will confuse consumers. Here is a possible scenario:

A customer (C) enter a computer shop and ask the seller (S)to sell him/her a computer.

(C) Yes I would like to buy an Intel computer.

(S) Celeron or PII?
(C) PII

(S) With MMX2 or without?
(C) With MMX2 of course!

(S) With integrated L2 cache or not?
(C) With integrated L2 cache.

(S) 256K L2 or 512K L2?
(C) 256K.

(S) FSB of 100MHz or 133MHz?
(C) 133MHz.

(S) You want the chip with 4 metals or 5 metals?
(C) 5 metals

(S) You want the C4 bump or bonding pad?
(C) Looking frustrated the consumer finally says
"Damn it! Just give me the AMD K7 with 3D NOW!"
