J - people as in 'we the people' or the great unwashed. I remember a while ago there was a major issue here (where? you may ask - but I ain't telling) where politicians of all parties and editorial writers were all in favour of a certain proposal which was the subject of a referendum.
Well, 'the people' voted, and, in their wisdom, overwhelmingly threw the proposal out. A triumph for democracy, but you would have never thought it possible if you had listened to the media or the talking heads, before the event. Americans have grown up and their maturity is baffling to the people who try to shape opinion - but understandable to people in continental Europe who are more sanguine about such things. See the posting here E.

J,

Question> I was told that Slick Willy was not a Rhodes scholar but was on a Fulbright Scholarship. Is there a difference? Is this true?

BTY, Fulbright was from Ark.
