Dr Medina sent out an E-mail on September 7th to his ALYA mailing list:

<quote> A member of the ALYA mailing list asked me if I have lost interest
in the stock. That is not the case. I've lost interest in the stock market.
I sold every stock I had about three weeks ago -- except ALYA, which I still
like as a Y2k play irrespective of broad market direction.

However, I felt an ethical unease about participation in forums
which encourage continued stock-market participation, such as SI, or the list
itself. At the same time, I didn't want contribute to the bursting of
anybody's bubble by explicitly withdrawing from sponsorship of the list or
otherwise giving voice to my sell-everything orientation.

Anyway, by now it is clear enough, both that the overall market
direction is negative, and that, in the short-term, ALYA is not exempt. I
continue to believe in the long-term potential of the company, which is why I
will continue to hold the stock. The proceeds of the rest of my portfolio are
being held in physical gold, which I believe has no place to go but up, with
stocks collapsing and bonds already in the stratosphere. <end quote>
