No I am not kidding and that is why I said 5-10yrs. psft will continue to do well for quite some time, before orcl takes over...currently orcl is being let down in apps by larry and till he is around, the situation will not change much. But ultimately orcl and sap currently rated 2nd and 1st respectively in the apps business, will be the only ones left. This is much like the internet stocks, only a couple will be left when all is said and done. psft is a great company and will continue to grow at least for some time...so cheer up and enjoy it while the going is good. good luck trading!!!

aps

p.s. life of psft may become shorter if they go to bed with gates. of course short term traders will love it.

Re: Orcl vs Psft, I think I have to look into this again shortly. The thing is, if Orcl redefines the engine, then remember that will give them another opportunity in apps similar to the opportunity they missed last time. Its a longshot but it could happen and it hinges on the new engine technologies such as 8i.

Everybody really thinks Larry has lost it but he was just tremendous once and it wasnt that long ago. It would be better ala gorilla game if psft or oracle apps emerge. Sap will kill both if they remain with current mkt share. Right now it looks like Psft will devour Oracle apps (and I am very impressed with psft acquisitions etc) but its not a completely done deal, Im sure everyone agrees with that.
