No, I think it is why Q rallied. Also, Q unlike Nok.a is already very low, and didn't rally all that much these last few days.

But I wouldn't count on Q holding up completely near term if this downdraft continues.

But its all calling the odds, at best. No certainties, that's for certain. <gg>

We seem to me to be in a trading range, with the low or maybe mid 8000s in the Dow at the top end and the bottom end moving lower than the recent 7400 or so, seems to me. So I just try to figure out when sentiment is likely to change based on what is going on in the world as the market moves to either end of the range. I'm guiding by my near certainty (which could of course be wrong) that we aren't going to break free to the upside of all this until some more really bad things have happened.

Or until a fair amount of time has passed for things to consolidate and start to get better. On the perifery.

If Korea really does start moving up (in sectors other than just buying Qcom Asics, that is), it would be a very encouraging early indicator.

We CAN emerge from this without Japan, although its a lot harder. Lots of pressure would start to be taken off Japanese banks if places like Korea looked to be able to really pay their loans on time. To Japan, for the most part.
