The key to full-frame videoconferencing is cable transmission and EGHT has it and CFON does not appear to be there yet. Nobody is going after the consumer market with the breadth and scope of EGHT right now. The majors, distributors and retailers need to get behind at least one high profile product and EGHT is there now. I'm not concerned about near term volatility. Give it 'til December and see how were doin' ;) Some EGHT vs CFON comparisons: EGHT: employees 136 mcap 46.2m last qtr net sales: $7,100,000 CFON : employees 47 mcap 19.9m last qtr net sales: $ 339,150 EGHT's ViaIP is capable of point-to-point video internet calls over CATV CFON's ITV uses ISDN and phone lines. Don't see any indication of CATV capability in press releases. From EGHT July earning release: Paul Voois, chairman and CEO. ''We continue to build our systems business. Unit sales of ViaTV videophones grew more than 40% sequentially over the previous quarter, with the growth split between our direct and retail channels. We entered volume production of the VC150 desktop videophone, which has a built-in camera and LCD display. We targeted a new market by introducing the RSM-1500 remote surveillance module, which allows anyone within reach of a touch-tone telephone to monitor any location anywhere in the world.'' Mr. Voois continued, ''We achieved several technological milestones during the quarter. We shipped samples of our Enhanced Video Communication Processor, the VCPex, which provides integrated audio, video and modem capabilities on a single chip. At the Desktop Videoconferencing Show in April, we demonstrated an Internet Protocol-based videophone, which enables high-quality video calls over local area and other IP networks.'' Expect EGHT's products to be high-profile this fall and winter.
