<Paul, where the heck do you get your data?>

I'm sure Paul meant Q198 not Q298. Intel beat consensus estimates by 11% in Q1. Kurlack's (c intentional) estimate was 20+% low.

At any rate, Paul's assertion "Intel surprised on the upside TWICE in the past 9 months" is correct and after Q3 it will be 3 of the last 4 quarters. Not bad for a period during which most semi's were/are losing big bucks and missing estimates badly.

In fact, despite the overall industry climate (which many pundits are saying is one of the worse downturns ever for the semi's), Intel has managed to earn more than a BILLION dollars every quarter.

GVTucker - Re: " And, by the way, what's your point? I have repeatedly said that there is no Wall St analyst that has a consistent record in forecasting Intel's earnings. Are you agreeing with me?"

You are agreeing with me, GVTucker.
