Stak, Re: I find it interesting that Motorola will close the Virginia Plant, while at the same time they will intro the "Blackbird" which uses the PowerPC chip.

The Virginia fab was designed to be a memory mfg. facility (not logic, as in PowerPC). It has had an arduous on-again, off-again history. Plans were shelved, only to be brought back on the front burner last December. Now with supply glut and tanked ASP's of memory, it is off-again.

As Virginia is my home state, I know how excited the state was to land this high tech plum. Research Triangle Park just south in N.C. is the envy of the Old Dominion. Perhaps Mot can reevaluate their plans and convert to logic? Sure would be great for the state!
