Well, I have to say you are a good example. Two weekends of canning. I looked at all those tomatoes on the kitchen counter (they're falling off the bushes) and ... canned for the first time ever.

One batch of Okra pickles. One batch of home made ketchup. 5 pounds of tomatoes for one quart of ketchup! was surprised how easy it was. Just followed the directions on the Ball jar box and some recipes I have (to the degree I ever follow recipes... added some whole allspice, and stuff... delicious).

Hope your crop is coming in too. What a blast!

Hi. Just wondering (having successfully canned 4 quarts of cooked down tomatoes and frozen dozens of plum tomatoes) do you know anything about how to dry tomatoes? Still have lots left although the vines are going. Will do my favorite green tomato chutney (from Joy of Cooking) when the season's all over.

Thanks for any help.
