Hi Rif, I did read the article in The Economist since some one mentioned the article on the thread a few days ago but then I found another article refuting what they have to say in another journal and posted it here also. Looks like the ML gang is reading too many biz rags like The Economist,you think?<VBG>

Anyway these electronic gadgets and appliances are not a direct threat to DELL or similiar companies but as they are introduced and as they gain acceptance it will certainly be a threat to Sub Zero vendors among the PC mfgs,like the Pakkard Bells and all. Do read the most recent post from Dellicious as it mentions a Korean vendor who is coming to market with a sub 500 PC device.This is all noise for DELL and its shareholders, as you know we are not in this segment.

Rif,

The thin client appliances are meant for the home, and they are not going to take the business away from the PC. They will supplement it, in the way PDA's are doing today. And, of course, the low end PC's are not our market anyway. Bill just doesn't like any kind of competition.
